A security camera that doesn't just record.
It understands — and deters in real time.
Verkada's new generation detects loitering, intrusion and unusual events the moment they happen, speaks to the intruder with an AI-generated voice message that describes them personally — and lets you search video in plain language. No NVR, no servers, from anywhere in the world.

The brain behind the lens: what Verkada's AI actually does
Traditional cameras record evidence after the fact. Verkada acts in real time — detecting, combining conditions, deterring and reporting.
Autonomous deterrence — the system responds before you even wake up
Detecting loitering or intrusion automatically triggers an AI-generated voice message that describes the person personally. Deterrence escalates gradually: messages, lights, siren — until the threat leaves. The system even changes voice between incidents to stay effective against repeat offenders.
Natural-language search
Describe what you're looking for — and get the clip in seconds, across every camera and site.
Smart alerts, no noise
Get alerted only when several conditions are met together: a person crossing a line after hours, a worker in a hazard zone without a helmet, or loitering by a person on a watchlist only.
License plate recognition
Automatic logging of every vehicle in and out, allow/block lists, and instant search by plate number.
Detects fights, falls and loud noises
Detects fights, falls and unusual sounds (shouting, breaking glass) in real time — with an automatically generated incident report.
Unified timeline
The AI reconstructs the full path of a person or vehicle across every camera — even between different sites — into one continuous timeline.
Automatic incident summaries
Every recorded incident gets an automatically written description — a report ready to share with management, insurance or police.
A camera for every scenario — all managed from one screen
Every camera includes built-in encrypted storage for 30 to 365 days, a dedicated AI processor, and a single network-cable connection (PoE).
Dome cameras
The workhorse — indoor and outdoor, vandal-resistant, up to 4K
Bullet cameras
Long range, license plate recognition, parking lots and perimeters
Fisheye cameras
180° coverage of large areas in a single camera
Multisensor
2–4 lenses in one unit — covering junctions and corners
PTZ cameras
Pan, tilt and optical zoom — active tracking across open areas
Mini cameras
Discreet for small spaces — registers, counters, elevators
Remote cameras
Battery + LTE — construction sites and areas with no power or network
A hybrid-cloud architecture that eliminates the server room
| Traditional NVR | Verkada | |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure | Recording server, DVR, double cabling | One network cable per camera |
| Remote access | Clunky VPN, open ports | Browser or app, from anywhere |
| Event search | Hours of manual scrubbing | Plain-language AI search — seconds |

A tailored solution for every industry
Everything you need to know
How is Verkada different from a regular NVR camera system?
A traditional system records to a local server and requires maintenance, a VPN for remote viewing and manual scrubbing of footage. With Verkada, every camera is an independent computer: recording is stored encrypted inside the camera, management happens from the cloud in any browser, and the AI detects events and enables plain-language search — with no server on site.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The cameras keep recording as usual to the encrypted local storage inside them (30–365 days depending on the model). As soon as the connection returns, everything syncs back to the cloud. Recording itself does not depend on the internet.
How long does installation take?
Each camera connects with a single network cable (PoE) and comes online within minutes — it is automatically recognized in the Command platform. A typical deployment of dozens of cameras finishes in a few days, not weeks.
Does the system meet privacy and data-security requirements?
Yes. End-to-end encryption (at rest and in transit), granular access permissions per user, a full audit log of every view, and the ability to blur private areas in the image. Verkada meets strict international security standards.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is made up of a one-time hardware cost plus a cloud license per camera, and depends on quantity and models. Leave your details and we'll get back to you with a clear, accurate quote for your needs — including a cost comparison against your existing system.
